Date: 07/03/2023

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to Him be the Glory, Power, and Dominion forever and ever and to the Holy Ghost that is yet abiding in the body. This month’s key word is HOPE.

What is hope?  The biblical definition of hope is an expectation with certainty that God will do what He has said he would do. Hebrews 11:1 tells us, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”.  Our hope should be based on the fact of who God is. “Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: 19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil” (Hebrews 6:17-19).  Hence, in spite of what we see; in spite of what is going on; in spite of how the situation looks, we have hope because God cannot lie.

GOD GIVES US 7 PROMISES OF HOPE.

  1. The Hope of God’s Provision: Matthew 6:31-32; Philippians 4:19
  2. The Hope of God’s Presence: Deuteronomy 31:6
  3. The Hope of God’s Protection: Psalms 119:114; Psalms 27:1,5
  4. The Hope of Eternal Life: Titus 1:1-2
  5. The Hope of Christ’s Return: Titus 2:11-13
  6. The Hope of Inheritance: 1 Peter 1:3-4
  7. The Hope of Answered Prayer: 1 John 5:14-15

In closing, hope is one of the greatest gifts God has given us. His 7 promises of hope are designed to inspire hope within us. Hope gives us the ability to look at any situation and know that regardless of how it may appear, God is going to come through. First Corinthians 15:19 tells, “If in this life only we have hope in Christ…”. My brothers and sisters if we remove the element of hope we will discover that our joy, enthusiasm, peace, focus, motivation, and everything attached to our walk with God will be removed. That is why we cannot lose hope. God is the God of hope, Christ is the hope of Glory, and the Holy Spirit is the one who births hope in us. Romans 15:13 says, “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost”. Until next week, remember, “… with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).
