Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, power, and dominion forever and ever, and to the Holy Ghost, who continues to dwell within us, guiding our steps. This week’s message reveals, “Holiness is a Promise, Not a Threat.”
Christ is the answer to our guilt and condemnation (through justification), so He is the answer to our bondage and corruption (sanctification). He takes away not only the verdict but also the slavery. In the heavenly court, it would be cruel and unjust for God to justify us without giving us the gifts that belong to us by that heavenly verdict. He doesn’t just put money into our bank account and then leave us stranded along the side of the road, beaten and bruised.
Holiness is not an option for the Christian. You may believe that “Holiness” is an impossible dream?” To be sure, “but with God, all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). God’s word tells us Holiness is not an option but a requirement. However, it’s essential to understand that this is not a threat but a promise, a beacon of hope that guides our journey.
What God began, he will finish (Philemon 1:6). In Christ, we are already holy, righteous, sanctified, and reconciled (1 Corinthian 1:30). Now we are called to embrace and live what we are, not to strive to become what we are not yet. This brings a profound sense of peace, contentment, and self-acceptance, knowing that we are loved and accepted as we are.
In closing, “…with God, all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). This is not just a statement but a source of profound hope and encouragement, knowing that no matter the circumstances, God’s power can make all things possible. Let this truth fill you with reassurance and confidence in your faith journey.
