Weekly Message

Date: July 1, 2024

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, power, and dominion forever and ever, and to the Holy Ghost, who still abides in us. This week’s message is “The Upward Call of God on this Highway of Holiness.”

Every moment in Jesus Christ is this, “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect” (Matthew 5:48). We must aim to grow into spiritual maturity by actively integrating Godly values into our daily lives, mind, and character. As Christians, this should be our goal in life. We have the perfect example of God and the Divine perfection embodied in Jesus Christ to guide us on our journey. However, this Highway of Holiness requires constant struggle while we are still in the flesh. Nonetheless, we must continue to strive towards this ideal and constantly ascend higher. It is important to note that this does not teach sanctification to the extent that we cannot sin nor attain absolute perfection here on earth. Instead, we have been given a model of perfection to follow and must constantly work towards reaching it.

“We are on a journey together, my brothers and sisters. We travel in groups and are not alone on this Highway of Holiness. Therefore, we should care about one another and “watch over” each other, as our church doctrine says, “watch over one another in brotherly love.” According to Hebrews 12, we are to look out for each other and watch over each other as we progress on this journey. We must pray for each other and hold each other accountable. As we travel this path together, we will give and receive correction, encouragement, accountability, instruction, and advice in prayer.”
Finally, we’re going to make it; we’re going to get there, we’re going to Zion (Hebrews 12:10). Romans 8:29-30 says, “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover, whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. Saints, what is glorification? Glorification is the end of sanctification after years and years of making slow, painful progress.

In conclusion, when we die or see Jesus at His second coming, we will see Him as He is, by His power. “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure” (1 John 3:2-3). This verse instructs us to purify ourselves just like the spirits of the righteous men made perfect in the twelfth chapter of Hebrews. They are praising God and waiting for us to finish our race. We will make it, so do not get disheartened. It may not be easy, but keep making progress.

Because “…with God, all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).
