Message from the Desk of First Lady Deaconess Linda Worthem

Date: November 19, 2023

Holy Greetings my brothers and sisters in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I remain saved, sanctified, with a made-up mind, and kept by the power of the Holy Ghost. I give honor to our General Chief Overseer, Bishop Dr. Calvin Worthem, and Assistant Overseer Bishop Dr. Bonnie Guster and all officials of the Church of the Living God-Jewell Dominion, who are teaching, preaching and living according to the word of God.

Saints, I thank God for the success of all the State Assemblies held thus far. The Overseer and I are so appreciative of the officials who were willing to travel to various states to preside over the services. I had a wonderful time the Kentucky State Assembly held in Murray, KY. I am also very thankful to God for the Overseer and those who traveled with him to Ghana, Africa. The trip was a success both naturally and spiritually. They were able to  give out school uniforms, conduct an health fair, and distributed rice, soup, and sugar. During the services the people gladly received the Word of God. I thank God that the Overseer is a leader who does not ask the members to do something that he is not willing to do. To those who did not travel but stayed home and prayed, I thank God for you as well.

As we approach Thanksgiving Day, let us remember to be thankful each and every day. I encourage you to practice thanking God as soon you open your eyes each morning.  We must not allow Satan to infiltrate  our minds with negative thought.  We must start each day  with a positive attitude and keep that attitude throughout the day. I remember being in a Prayer Warrior meeting and the late Elder Faye Coney encouraged us to start our day with peace and don’t allow anyone to take it away. Satan wants to take our peace and joy away. Satan is miserable and he wants us to be miserable as well. Let us also teach our children to start and end their day thanking God.

In my closing, I am reminded of a very familiar scripture, Psalm 136:1 which tells us “O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever”.   Saints we serve a Mighty God, our God is God and there is no other God.

All praise be to the true and living God, the General Chief Overseer and I wish the Church of the Living God, Jewell Dominion saints and friends a very Happy Thanksgiving.
