Message from the Desk of First Lady Deaconess Linda Worthem

Date: Sunday, October 22, 2023

Holy Greetings my brothers and sisters in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I remain saved,  sanctified, with a made-up mind, and kept by the power of the Holy Ghost. I give honor to our General  Chief Overseer, Bishop Dr. Calvin Worthem, and Assistant Overseer Bishop Dr. Bonnie Guster and all  officials of the Church of the Living God-Jewell Dominion, who are teaching, preaching and living  according to the word of God.

Saints as I look out at nature and see the beautiful colors that the leaves are turning, I know that Fall has  arrived. I pray that all have had a glorious time in the Lord with the visits from your Presiding Elders,  Area/State Bishops. We were beautifully blessed by Elder Joyce Flemons-Freeman, Presiding Elder and  Bishop Dr. Aurora Jones, Area Bishop. The General Chief Overseer and I are praying for all upcoming  State Assemblies. We are praying that as the teachings and words go forth, hearts will be touched and souls  will be revived and saved. The purpose of these newsletters are to encourage the members with the word  of God or with a testimony.

The month of October is National Breast Cancer month; I encourage all, men and women to do monthly  self-exams. Ladies remember to have your yearly mammograms. In October 2021, Bishop Mary Crudup,  the senior Pastor of Brown Chapel COTLG, was diagnosed with stage-3 breast cancer. After receiving the  diagnosis, she informed her family, “I believe God is going to heal me, because God is good and faithful  and I am living for God”. Then she said, “If the healing is for me to go to God or to stay, I am a winner  either way”. Over a period of one year, she had 20 Chemotherapy treatments, 33 radiation treatments, and  3 surgeries. Her praise report on March 23, 2023: she was informed by her Oncologist that she is cancer  free and at her 6-month checkup in September, she remains cancer free. Praise God!!!! Praise God!!!

Saints, no matter what the situation might be in your life, (health, children, finances, marriage, depression,  hurt, or unforgiveness), pray to God about it and give it to Him. Psalm 34:15 tells us, “The eyes of the Lord  are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry”. “For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor  forsake thee” (Hebrews 13:5b). Saints, surely as the leaves change colors in the Fall season, you can look  to God to answer your prayers. Praise God!!!

In closing, pray for the General Chief Overseer and others as they prepare to travel to Ghana, Africa to do  God’s work. In addition, continue to support Bishop Marva Neal’s Wives Ministry Zoom meetings every  2nd Saturday of each month. I want to leave you with the following scripture, “The Lord bless thee, and  keep thee: the Lord makes his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: the Lord lift up his  countenance upon thee, and give thee peace” (Numbers 6:24-26).

All praise be to the true and living God,

Deaconess Linda Worthem

National First Lady of COTLG-Jewell Dominion
