                                              “Embrace Beauty”

“He hath made everything beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11-12)

Many of my friends and family are currently longing for the warmer temperatures of Spring to make their appearance. Soon, the fresh leaves will fully cover what were barren branches and flowers will be in full bloom. None of us must worry if the seasons are going to change, because God is a master artist and has it all under control.

The seasons are set to a specific time God ordains, as are the events in our lives and the journey He unfolds along the way. He alone knows how to take a rebellious heart of stone and soften it to praise His Holy name. Life transformation is not an overnight event. Like the seasons, the change of life for the glory of Christ is a process. In God’s perfecting timing, we will begin to see new growth.

The Biblical Book of Ecclesiastes was written by one of the wisest men to live, King Solomon. In this book, Solomon discusses the ebb and flow of life: time, foolishness, suffering, and wisdom are poetically unwrapped throughout this Old Testament book. Chapter 3 of Ecclesiastes focuses on the concept of time in the heart of man, and that God is ultimately sovereign over it: “He hath made everything beautiful in its time” (11a). The verse goes on to say God “also he hath set the world in their heart so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.” (Ecclesiastes 11b)

Often, we become extremely discouraged by disappointment or failure, but God is continually working in our hearts and our lives. The process of conforming us to the image of His dear Son rests solely in His hands as we “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). With the help of the Holy Spirit, we learn to walk in obedience. He leads us into all truth as we study the Word and renew our minds to replace old ways of thinking with God’s perfect will.

Perhaps this process of renewing our minds and seeing transformation in behavior and attitude is slowed because our eyes become too fixated on the temporal cares of this life. Our hearts were made to look to the hope of eternity, but if we are not careful, we can be consumed with worry when things are not changing as quickly as we would like them to or when our circumstances in our life are challenging or uncomfortable. It can be tempting to grasp for control to avoid discomfort before asking the Lord for His help. We often fail to acknowledge He may be using difficulties to work well in our lives and turn it all into something beautiful. Do you feel like you are stuck in a “winter” season, longing to see blooms of new life?

Heavenly Father,
Someone is struggling with disappointment and discontentment about where they are in life right now. Help them to guard their heart against discouragement, ungratefulness, and complaining. Help them to look for the blessings you have already given them in their current circumstances. Teach them how to find ways to praise You when their expectations are not met and learn how to trust Your perfect timing even if they don’t fully understand it. I know I need to trust in Your sovereignty and lean upon Your ways over my own. Your grace is sufficient for me, and I thank You for always guiding me into truth and convicting my heart when I fall into the sins of grumbling and complaining, thinking that I know better than You. My lips praise Your great name. Thank You for Your love for me and for changing my heart to reflect Yours. I pray You would use the season You have me in to transform me and strengthen my faith in You. Give me eyes to see the beauty even in my winter season. In Your son Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

Weekly Message from General Chief Overseer Bishop Dr. Calvin Worthem

Date: 05/01/2023

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to Him be the Glory, Power, and Dominion forever and ever and to the Holy Ghost that is yet abiding in the body. This week’s key phrase is Deliverance from Secret Hurt.

First, the victim must acknowledge the secret hurt. There are thousands of individuals that have been taken advantage of by a person in authority or a family member. The victim feels that their trust has been  betrayed by their church and/or loved ones. Healing from all the effects, pain, and trauma caused by being assaulted, molested, and/or raped is not easy. But I want to assure you that you don’t have to live with all that pain any longer. Jesus is big enough and strong enough to heal you. There are thousands before you that have received His healing power. God’s Healing Power is pure love. “Healed of Pain, Healed of Trauma, healed of all the effects the secret evil act or acts, had on your life. Isaiah 41:10 tells us, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

God promises that He can heal our pain.  Deuteronomy 31:6,Be strong and of a good courage,  fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God,  he it is that doth go with thee;  he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”. Deuteronomy 31:8, “And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.” Joshua 1:5, There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Matthew 8:16, “When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick.”

God knows our pain and trouble.  Psalm 38:18, “The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; And saveth such as be of a contrite spirit”. Revelation 21:4, “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”   Matthew 4:23-25,  And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. 24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them. 25 And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.”

My brother and sisters Jesus, through His Holy Spirit, can and will heal you, if you are willing to do a few simple things. First, you only have to believe that Jesus can and will help you if you ask.  Are you a saved, Christian believer? Many of us have not taken the time to ask ourselves that question and so many others have been mistaught. I encourage you to take a few minutes to check yourself and find out.  Secondly, you must forgive the person who hurt you so badly. In order to finally find peace you are going to have to forgive them and let God deal with them.

In closing, The Word of God teaches us that we must forgive! God is strong and loving enough to take away all of the known and hidden (secret hurt) pains. Only He can overcome and remove all of the demonic that has come into your life. And He is strong enough to remove any demonic  spirits that are causing your pain. Jesus tells us many times that He gives all believers the power and authority to defeat the evil one and all of his minions, fallen angels,  and demons. All of the evil spirits affecting you can be removed and the pain replaced with Love, Joy and Peace, when we are delivered from their grasp and control. In order to achieve that we need deliverance. We need to have our body and mind cleaned of the evil spirits that have put and kept us in bondage. Until next week let us remember, “… with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26b).
