Weekly Message from General Chief Overseer Bishop Dr. Calvin Worthem

Date: August 15, 2022

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to Him be the Glory and to the Holy Ghost that abides within me. God has laid on my spirit to write a weekly message to The Church of the Living God, The Pillar and Ground of the Truth, Which He Purchased With His Own Blood, Inc.– Jewell Dominion saints and friends. This week’s message is for the Youth, who are the church of tomorrow. This week’s topic is ENCOURAGEMENT.

The bible has many different words of encouragement, which can strengthen you. I just want to encourage you to give thanks unto the Lord for His Mercy endures forever. His Mercy can keep you strong in times of challenges. You can always count it all joy whenever you’re passing through any trial, because, through this trial, it’s working out patience in you. Nothing is ordained to crush you, just keep moving. Whenever you’re passing through the shadow of death, do not fear, he’s always with you. You may not feel His presence but be sure He’s always there standing by you. The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes in your life. Just know He is close to those who trust in Him, and His ears are open to your cries. Therefore, keep trusting, He will never let you down. You do not have to be weary of always doing the right thing. Because your rewarder is ever nearer to you with His reward with Him.

Young people you may be anxious about your future because you can’t see what the future holds. But the scripture says, “don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will care for itself”. Today’s trouble is enough for today. Therefore, do not get tired of doing what is good. At the right time, you will reap a harvest of blessings if you don’t give up. Keep investing in your future, you will reap a great harvest. Life is truly full of cares and anxieties, but the scriptures have admonished you to “Cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you” “Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely, I will help you, Surely, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”  The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love, He will no longer rebuke you but will rejoice over you with singing.

Remember to not allow troubles in your heart, trust in God because He can save you to the uttermost as you keep calling on Him. Don’t stop looking unto Jesus the author and the finisher of your faith. Because if you keep looking up, everything will take shapes and work according to divine plans. Those who hope in the LORD He will renew your strength.  You will soar on wings like eagles; you will run and not grow weary; you will walk and not be faint. What you’re going through is the same as others have experienced before. Trials and temptations are common to men. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you can overcome.

In closing, I want to encourage you to not lose heart. Though outwardly you may appear to be wasting away, yet inwardly you are being renewed day by day. For your light and momentary troubles are achieving for you an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. You can do all things through Him who gives you strength to face each of your life’s challenges and emerge a victor. Always remember that you are more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ that loves you unconditionally. I pray that this message will advance your young minds to help you go through whatever you may be facing triumphantly without getting discouraged. Let us remember that it is important to always have in mind that no matter how strong you may think you are, there will always be some point or time in your lives when situations and circumstances of life will challenge you. And when you face life situations, at this point, don’t throw in the towel, be encouraged. If you have not come to Christ, please give your life to Christ today.

In His Service,

Bishop Dr. Calvin Worthem
