Message from the Desk of First Lady Deaconess Linda Worthem

Date: July 7, 2024

Holy Greetings, my brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I remain saved, sanctified, and kept by the power of the Holy Ghost. I give honor to our General Chief Overseer, Bishop Dr. Calvin Worthem, our Assistant Overseer, our Chief Helpers, and all officials who work tirelessly to spread the word of God and bring souls to Christ.

My soul is still rejoicing over our wonderful time at our 116th General Assembly.  We celebrate the five (5) souls that found salvation, the inspiring sermons, heartfelt testimonies, the cancer survivor walk, the talented musicians, and the dedicated ushers. The Jewell Ensemble Choir filled our hearts with their beautiful songs. The Overseer and I were overjoyed to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary with a delicious meal shared with our brothers and sisters. We are grateful to all who worked tirelessly to find a venue and plan the menu. The cakes were a delight. We thank you for all the anniversary gifts, the cards, the food, cologne, cups, and all monetary gifts. We praise God for granting us safe travels to and from the General Assembly and keeping our loved ones safe while we were away. These moments of joy and celebration have strengthened our bond as a community.

Brothers and sisters, as we celebrate the 4th of July, a day that marks the colonies’ freedom from British rule, let us also remember Juneteenth, the day the slaves in Texas learned of their freedom. But above all, let us not forget that the Blood of Jesus Christ has set us free from the bondage of sin. The Holy Ghost empowers us to remain free.  Acts 1:8 reminds us, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” This is a personal journey, and I urge you to make a firm decision and a determined spirit to live free and separate from the bondage of sin. Galatians 5:1 says, “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” Let these words guide you in your spiritual journey.

In closing, I would like to share pictures of the saints in their beautiful African attire. Didn’t we have a good time!!!!!!

All praises be to the all-mighty God.

His Servant,

Deaconess Linda Worthem
