2024 Holy Week – Holy Thursday

Prayer

The Last Supper

Prayer

My Lord, the Passover Meal that evening, although containing many elements, was of great significance.  It was the last time, in human form, you would communicate with your eleven disciples.

They would not experience the fellowship, relationship, and display of your love until your resurrection.  They had their weak moments, but the bond of your love for them was sealed. At supper, they were reminded of the essence and foundation of your genuine love, which would   remain with them, all the days of their Apostleship.

Oh God of Love, as your Disciple help me, teach me, with permanence, to love you with all my heart, soul, and mind. To love myself, my neighbor, and all of the Household of Faith.   I need your love, I want your love oh Lord,

I must feel your love daily.   Then, allow the communion of your love within me radiate around others that more love will be returned to you.

This I, sincerely, pray in your Name, my Loving Lord.

Garden of Gethsemane

Prayer

Son of the most High God, you began to feel the weight of a sinful world on your shoulders.

The time of your greatest sufferings was near, becoming more of a reality.

  Expressively, you mentioned to the three disciples with you;

“My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death”. How could you get through it? You Prayed

O Jesus, three times you prayed to your Heavenly Father to let this cup pass.  It was a bitter cup, one of unbearable suffering.  But, You had to be the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the world.

Nonetheless you humbled yourself before your Father and yielded to His will, praying,

“O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done”

Saviour Divine, in our lives as Saints, we encounter hardships or difficult times.  Hills or mountains which appear to be unsurmountable.  We must work, we must be living sacrifices, we have callings on our lives, given commands. many seem impossible to do.  Lord, Jesus, just as the Heavenly Angels visited you in the Garden to strengthen you.   Please strengthen us to walk by faith and not by sight, that we might humbly submit to your will, in all things.

It is thy will that must be done in earth as it is in Heaven. All for our good.

In your Name We Pray.  Amen
